The Pro Hunter II by Steyr offers high performance and comes packed with exclusive features not found on rifles of lesser quality. It comes equipped with Steyr’s innovative Safe Bolt System or SBS. This unique system has a 2+1 safety function has three settings operated by a wheel selector mounted in the tang of the receiver. The first level deactivates the firing mechanism and the second level locks the bolt in place. The SBS also features a press-to-release tab that locks the switch down in the safe and locked position. The fire mode is indicated by a red dot. In addition, the Pro Hunter II features a 2-stage magazine securing mechanism. The first stage will lock the magazine in the weapon but allows the bolt to be operated without chambering cartridges in the magazine. This allows the shooter to manually load individual rounds by hand, but still have a fully loaded magazine at the ready. Tapping the bottom of the magazine will activate the second stage, and allows the auto loading of rounds.
